Case studies are when you slow down and look closely at one space, one moment, one environment. when you try to understand what it's really doing to the individuals around it.
HOW CASE
STUDIES HELP
Case studies help you notice what people usually ignore. They show you how spaces have the ability to shape stress, comfort, focus, and behavior without the individual ever noticing. Instead of guessing how design affects people, you start seeing the patterns across real environments in realtime.

An open air residential pool house was observed through both environmental context and informal conversations with construction workers who explained that the structure was intentionally designed to feel open and connected to its surroundings rather than enclosed.
A narrow, enclosed school stairwell was observed during class transitioning. Where artificial lighting, noise and large crowds created an overstimulating environment. Many students described the space as stressful and something they try to move through as quickly as possible, without directly linking their discomfort to the design itself.
A windowless office environment with low ceilings, fluorescent lighting, and minimal environmental variation was observed alongside informal conversations with workers about their daily experience in the space. Most described feelings of fatigue, low energy, and loss of focus over extended periods of time, though they did not blame the physical environment.
